The movement and cognition conference 2019 will devote a specific section to the Science of Dance, which will be dedicated to themes including: dance and cognition; optimization of motor performance in dance; brain imaging and dance; physiology and kinesiology of dance; dance and nutrition; dance, motor skills learning and behavior; dance education; imagery for dance practice; neuroscience of dance.
The Science of Dance section will be composed of three types of presentations:
- Research lectures or posters.
- Demonstrative lectures – whereby choreographers and dancers present how they use
body knowledge and cognitive understanding as tools for choreography and for refining dance techniques.
- Somatic workshops – whereby a topic is presented through somatic experience.
We invite you to submit a 1-page (350 words) abstract for the ” Science of Dance” section, following the instructions at the conference website. Please select the type of presentation that is relevant to your proposal. Abstracts should be submitted to: [email protected]
